Christin is a researcher who is dedicated to collaborative work that helps tell the stories of individuals, families, and communities to highlight strengths and address needs. She first worked at Wilder from 1989 to 1992 and returned in 2011.

Christin specializes in work related to aging and homelessness, with a strong interest in the intersections with housing and community, as well as the cumulative effects of poverty and strategic marginalization. Her most recent reports include Homelessness Among Adults 55+ in Minnesota and A Broader Framework for Minnesota’s Solos. Other recent projects include transportation needs of older adults in rural Minnesota, a reference guide on housing for older adults in Minnesota, and customized living in subsidized housing settings.

Christin has a master’s degree in gerontology from Bethel University and is a credentialed professional gerontologist. She also has a master’s degree in higher education from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College, with a double major in sociology and French.

Christin serves on the boards of the Minnesota Gerontological Society and Wonderlust Productions. Outside work, Christin likes to build, sew and grow things, make art, hang out with her adult kids, walk her dogs, and challenge herself to learn new things.
