The Northside Achievement Zone (NAZ) operated as a federally funded Promise neighborhood for the first year during 2012. As such, it was a year of great increase in the scale of operations, both in the number of families served and its program offerings. The goal of the external evaluation is to examine the effectiveness at this larger scale. Key accomplishments during 2012 have been the development of a logic model, in partnership with NAZ staff and the internal evaluators; identification of data sources for required federal measures; and identification of annual targets for monitoring progress toward the four key academic outcomes.
