Nebraska resettles more refugees per capita than any other state in the U.S. In its work providing resources and services to people with refugee backgrounds, Omaha-based Restoring Dignity staff saw a growing housing crisis for resettling refugee families.
Wilder Research teamed up with Restoring Dignity to explore the housing landscape in Omaha and identify barriers to affordable housing for people with refugee backgrounds.
Recommendations include a mix of potential short- and long-term solutions informed by input from multiple refugee ethnic groups, service organizations, and property managers, and an analysis of existing data on the region.
