Grantees across Minnesota provide treatment support and recovery services for pregnant and parenting women who have substance use disorders and their families. The evaluation includes process and outcome evaluations and a cost-benefit analysis.

The Women’s Recovery program provides treatment support and recovery services for pregnant and parenting women who have substance use disorders, and their families. Wilder Research conducted an evaluation of this initiative, including a process evaluation (description of clients served and services provided) and an outcome evaluation (changes in clients� sobriety, basic needs, and health and well-being, as well as a cost-benefit analysis). This is a summary of preliminary data from July 2011 and May 2012.

October 2016

The Women’s Recovery Services initiative provides comprehensive, gender-specific, family-centered services for the clients in their care. This report provides an evaluation of program activities from June 2012 through March 2016. Results show that clients showed improvements across multiple areas at program exit, although only some clients maintained these positive outcomes at follow-up. Higher levels of service resulted in better outcomes.

January 2016

The Women’s Recovery program provides treatment support and recovery services for pregnant and parenting women who have substance use disorders, and their families. Services offered to program participants through the Women’s Recovery Services initiative vary somewhat across sites, but generally include services and supports related to treatment and recovery, basic needs and daily living, mental and physical health, and parenting. This report summarizes program activities from year four of the initiative.

October 2016

This study demonstrates the economic value of the five-year Women’s Recovery Services initiative, which provides comprehensive, gender-specific, family-centered treatment support and recovery services for pregnant and parenting women who have substance use disorders, and their families. The 10 programs served a total of 951 clients with 1,931 children in year four, the basis for this study. Conservative estimates detailed in this report show that the benefits generated by these programs providing Women’s Recovery Services will add up to $22.8 million over the lifetime of participants.
