This report represents the first phase of findings from two community needs surveys of adult LGBTQIA2S+ Minnesotans age 18 and older and parents/caregivers of LGBTQIA2S+ youth age 17 and younger. The surveys highlight experiences and characteristics related to demographics, health and wellness, education, physical and emotional safety, social support and community engagement, housing, and employment, and provide insights to improve the lives of Minnesota’s LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Project Name

MNQT was established by the Minnesota Legislature in 2023 as a state agency dedicated to advancing economic, social, legal, and political equality for people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender expansive, queer, intersex, asexual, and Two-Spirit. To comply with its statutory mandate, the Minnesota Legislature directed the Council to conduct studies to identify the challenges and needs of LGBTQIA2S+ Minnesotans in order to inform policy and program and decisions.
