Hsa Hsay Hser

Hsa Hsay Hser is a research assistant who specializes in community based participatory action research approach. She is passionate about ensuring that high-quality healthcare, especially mental health, is accessible to underrepresented communities in the way that is culturally sensitive. Hsa Hsay Hser joined Wilder in 2026.

Hsa Hsay Hser has a B.S. in Biology from Bethel University. During her undergrad, she volunteered at Karen Organization of Minnesota (KOM) in the Human Resources and Elder program. She attended and assisted a few focus groups that were led by the community health educator at KOM. Hsa Hsay Hser also volunteers at The Urban Village and has been a youth mentor there for over 3 years. She has experience working as a medical interpreter for more than five years interpreting in various healthcare settings and facilities throughout the twin cities, including the Wilder Foundation.

Hsa Hsay Hser enjoys camping, hiking, playing sports, and any activities that involve being out in nature. She likes traveling and has been to eight other countries outside of the U.S. Hsa Hsay Hser also loves being a homebody, spending time reading and picking up new hobbies during her free time.
