Tiara Fard (She/Her) is a North Side Minneapolis native, born and raised in the Black community that she now works to uplift. She is passionate about youth advocacy, affordable housing, and economic mobility for Black families, driven by the belief that stable housing and strong community support systems are foundational to breaking generational barriers.
Tiara works in youth and family services guiding system-impacted young people toward stability and opportunity, and is also active in real estate development, working to create housing for families historically shut out of homeownership and generational wealth-building.
Tiara applied for the Community Equity Program because she believes lasting change for Black and BIPOC communities requires more than direct service. It requires a seat at the policy table. She’s eager to deepen her civic and legislative knowledge so she can advocate more effectively for housing equity and economic mobility at the Minnesota Legislature.
