Flora Whitfield (She/Her) is a nonprofit leader, advocate, and community builder who is passionate about creating equitable systems that are responsive, trauma-informed, and rooted in the voices of the people they serve. Born on a U.S. Navy base near Seattle, Washington, while her father was serving in the Navy, Flora now calls Saint Paul, Minnesota home. For more than a decade, she has worked alongside individuals and families impacted by housing instability, domestic violence, sexual exploitation, and abuse. Her work has centered on strengthening programs, developing trauma-informed leaders, and building cross-sector partnerships that create meaningful, lasting community impact.
Flora is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Advocacy and Political Leadership, where she is deepening her understanding of public policy, systems change, and collaborative leadership. She applied to the Community Equity Program because she believes lasting change is built through authentic relationships, shared leadership, and community-driven solutions. She is excited to learn alongside fellow changemakers, broaden her perspective, and strengthen her ability to advance equity and create lasting impact across Minnesota.
