Naw-Amelia is a research associate who supports and assists many community-based research and evaluation projects. Naw-Amelia joined Wilder in 2023.
She has experience conducting focus groups, key informant interviews, and several types of qualitative and quantitative research. Her recent work at Wilder includes the Minnesota Homeless Study and collaborating with Saint Paul, Hennepin County, and many nonprofit organizations. Her primary research interests include immigrant and refugee needs and well-being, trauma-informed care, and enhancing libraries as a third space.
Naw-Amelia holds a bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology with a minor in family therapy from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. While getting her degree, she worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the Culture and Family Life Lab. She is currently pursuing a master’s in library and information science at St. Catherine University in Saint Paul.
Outside of Wilder, Naw-Amelia enjoys reading, going on nature walks, and hammocking with her corgi, Winter.
