The Minnesota Department of Human Services worked with Propel Nonprofits and Wilder Research to conduct a needs analysis and planning of emergency shelter for transgender adults experiencing homelessness in Minnesota.
This report to the legislature summarizes data on the numbers, characteristics, and needs of transgender people experiencing homelessness in Minnesota; feedback from transgender people with lived experience and service providers; insights from available literature related to the experiences of the transgender community and insights on how to best serve the community; a description of the shelter site analysis; and issues to consider.
