The Saint Paul Promise Neighborhood is an effort to ensure all children succeed in school by engaging residents to develop cradle-to-career support. The Promise Neighborhood encompasses a 250-block area in the Summit-University and Frogtown neighborhoods in Saint Paul. The purpose of the Community Assessment was to understand the living conditions, needs, and strengths of families with children who live in the Saint Paul Promise Neighborhood to support the work of planning the Promise Neighborhood initiative. This brief summarizes information from a survey of neighborhood residents.
The Saint Paul Promise Neighborhood is an education partnership that puts children in the Frogtown, Rondo, and Summit-University neighborhoods of Saint Paul on the pathway to college and career success. Housed at Wilder, Saint Paul Promise Neighborhood (SPPN) takes a proactive and preventive approach to the education opportunity gap by focusing early in a child’s life.
