This summary includes information gathered from local mental health service providers who focus on providing culturally appropriate services to youth and families of color in Ramsey County. It begins with an overview of common challenges agencies and service providers experience when providing mental health services to youth of color. It then highlights promising practices that have been used by agencies to address these challenges and provides RCCMHC with recommendations to further promote and support culturally appropriate services and service-delivery approaches.
To inform the Ramsey County Children’s Mental Health Collaborative, a literature review and key informant interviews were used to gather information about the common challenges service providers experience in providing mental health services to youth of color and promising practices that have been used to address these challenges.
