VM Floyd (She/Her), known as “Val” in her faith, is a purpose-driven community strategist, faith-centered, leader, trauma-informed advocate, and founder of multiple initiatives including Mustard Seed Faith which is committed to her passion for generational transformation. She is also the co-founder of a growing coalition focused on collaborative impact.
With a background in psychology, healthcare, and public health, Val holds multiple degrees and certifications in crisis response, safety training, and peer recovery. She brings a strong foundation in systems navigation, project management, healthcare delivery, equity frameworks, and healing-centered engagement. Her academic education, trainings, and lived experience converge in her deep dedication to youth, women, and families navigating trauma, instability, and transition.
Originally from North Minneapolis, MN, Val uses her personal story to drive equity-forward initiatives that intersect faith, public health, and economic empowerment. She leverages her voice to shift environments and restore dignity in underserved communities. She currently serves as Vice President of Anything Helps MN, an effective organization empowering individuals to achieve long-term recovery by addressing the systemic barriers they face.
Val joined the Community Equity Program to deepen her understanding of policy, budgeting, and community development. She believes in merging equity, integrity, and practical wisdom to influence policy and strengthen communal legacy. Her leadership is intentional: to lead without ego, build without noise, and impact without compromise.
