Ivette Izea-Martinez (She/Her/Ella) is a proud Venezuelan Latina, a community leader with over a decade of experience in youth programs, gender violence prevention, and equity. As a Senior Program Officer at Greater Twin Cities United Way, she advocates for systemic change, equity, and community engagement. Passionate about women’s rights, mental health, and well-being, she strives to create a positive impact. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership at Hamline University, and she is an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice leadership program in violence and abuse prevention. After spending nearly 30 years in Minnesota, she realized that she didn’t have a solid understanding of how policies and laws affecting our communities are created, and of our collective power. She applied to the Community Equity Program to strengthen her skills in policy, advocacy, and organizing.
