Darnesha (Nesh) Whitfield

Darnesha (Nesh) Whitfield (She/Her) is an educator, and passionate advocate for culturally grounded, student-centered learning. She is the heart behind innovative educational projects that uplift Black and Brown youth through inquiry-based learning and historical consciousness. She is deeply passionate about reimagining education to be more equitable, liberatory, and reflective of students’ identities. Her work centers joy, creativity, and critical thinking, especially for historically marginalized communities.

Nesh is a proud Black woman with roots in the Saint Paul/Minneapolis community. She currently lives in Minneapolis, where she is working to build a transformative educational ecosystem for children and families of color. She works as an educator in the Saint Paul Public School district. She applied for the Community Equity Program to connect with like-minded changemakers, deepen her leadership skills, and gain support in building sustainable, community-driven educational models that challenge the status quo.
