Michelle Morehouse serves as vice president of advancement at Wilder, where she oversees fundraising, program development, communications, and volunteer engagement. With nearly two decades of experience at the organization, she plays a key role in aligning advancement efforts with its mission to support thriving communities.
Michelle brings a strong background in direct service, program leadership, and organizational development, ensuring that outreach and resources continue to meet the evolving needs of the communities Wilder serves.
Career and Experience
With a strong foundation in direct service, Michelle spent nearly 15 years in Anchorage, Alaska, leading programs that promoted independence and inclusion for individuals with disabilities. She held key roles with Hope Community Resources, the State of Alaska Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and Access Alaska.
She started her career at Catholic Charities in Minnesota and has dedicated her work to advancing opportunity for all.
Roots and Local Commitment
Michelle was raised in small towns across Wisconsin, Kansas and Minnesota. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Minnesota and a master’s degree in adult education from the University of Alaska Anchorage. Her published research in the Leadership & Organization Development Journal explores emotional intelligence across career fields and continues to shape her collaborative leadership style.
She lives in St. Paul with her two dogs, Kodiak and Nuka, and enjoys baking, DIY projects and spending time at her family’s cabin near Moose Lake.
