Aly Fassett-Carman

Research Analyst

Aly specializes in using quantitative methods to understand and promote health and well-being. She joined Wilder in 2022.

Aly enjoys translating conceptual research questions into quantitative analyses. She works to clean and analyze a variety of data types, including survey data, health records, education data, and HR data, using a variety of methods from basic descriptive stats to linear regression and hierarchical linear modeling. Aly develops and maintains Power BI and Tableau dashboards, highlighting key metrics. Aly additionally serves on Wilder Research’s Internal Review Board, reviewing research projects to ensure compliance with ethical standards.

Aly’s topical expertise is in youth development and mental health. She holds a doctoral degree in neuroscience from Brandeis University, where she conducted research on the relations between stressful life experiences, depression and anxiety symptoms, and brain morphometry. Before joining Wilder Research, she worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Institute of Cognitive Science in Boulder, Colorado, in the Research on Affective Disorders and Development Lab.

Aly lives in South Minneapolis and loves running around the city with her family. She plays soccer and ultimate frisbee and, in her downtime, enjoys solving crossword puzzles with a cup of coffee.
