How does Telehealth Work?

Getting care at Wilder is easier than ever with secure telehealth appointments. You can talk to your provider by video from the comfort of your home—or anywhere you feel safe and private. We’ll help make sure everything is set up so it works for you.

How to Join Your Telehealth Appointment:

  1. Go to wilder.doxy.me

  2. Type “Front Office” into the welcome screen

  3. Click “Check In” to speak with our friendly front desk team

Telehealth Requirements

To join a Wilder telehealth appointment, you’ll need:

  • A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone

  • A reliable internet connection

  • A quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking

If you don’t have access to a device, Wilder may be able to provide a loaner—available in limited quantities.

  • EveryoneOn.org: Great resource to assist with getting equipment, internet service, and government provided programs.
  • Human I-T: Assists with getting people obtaining computing devices and internet connectivity.
  • PCs For People: Provides discounted refurbish computers.
  • The On It Foundation: Provides free computers to low income families with students K-12 that receives free or reduced school lunch.
  • Computers With Causes: Provides free computers to approved applicants.
  • FCC Lifeline Program: Provides eligible household monthly discount for internet connectivity of $9.25 per month.
  • Ramsey Connected: an initiative designed to ensure all Ramsey County residents have access to low-cost internet and computers and the skills to use them.

What is Telehealth?


Telehealth lets you meet with a provider by secure video instead of in person. It’s a safe, convenient way to access mental health and addiction support—especially if coming to a clinic isn’t possible.

Do I need a Computer to Access Telehealth?

You will need either a computer or a smart device to receive telehealth services. Please call us at 651-280-2310 and our staff will help you navigate any questions related to telehealth appointments.

Is Telehealth Secure?

Wilder’s telehealth services meet the Minnesota Department of Human Services standards for patient privacy and information security. Our technology and records systems are designed to protect your private health information.

Is Telehealth Covered by Insurance?

Wilder accepts MA (Medical Assistance), MNCare, Medicare, most health insurances and private pay for telehealth services. Many insurance providers cover telehealth as an option for receiving mental health support. Please check with your insurance provider with any questions about your coverage.

Where Should I Be When I'm Receiving Telehealth Services?

It is recommended that you are at a private secure area where you have good wireless service.  If you are not able to be at a private setting, we recommend that you use a headset connected to your device.
