Introducing Wilder's Policy Family Advisory

7/20/23
Body

We are seeking current and former Wilder program or service recipients to provide leadership and support in the creation of the 2024 Wilder Public Policy Agenda.

The Policy Family Advisory will guide Wilder on its advocacy efforts at the Capitol as we work to eliminate barriers and implement policies that improve lives in St. Paul and beyond! Advisory members will collaborate with service providers, community members, and Wilder’s Public Policy team over three meetings to identify advocacy priorities and policy areas that reflect the needs of our communities.

You can join the Policy Advisory if you are:

  • Currently receiving or have received services at Wilder OR you have a family member (chosen or biological) who has received Wilder services
  • Willing to share your lived experience as we determine what state policies are working well and/or failing members of our community
  • Committed to joining our September, October, and early December meetings
  • Interested in how public policy impacts the lives of our community members and want to know more about Wilder’s advocacy efforts

This is your chance to take a leading role in a non-profit that exists to serve you and your neighbors. You will explore how policy is interconnected with all aspects of life, connect with members of Wilder’s growing advocacy and leadership network, work with other passionate community leaders, and learn about other opportunities for leadership, advocacy, and skill development.
