About Us

Wilder has been committed to improving people’s lives and well-being since 1906. We accomplish this by drawing on the strengths of our community to solve problems together.

We believe there is strength in numbers. We partner with individuals, neighborhoods, corporations, civic leaders and other nonprofits that share our vision of a brighter future. United, we strive to eliminate barriers so all people can succeed. Despite our name, we are not a grant-making organization.

Over generations, we’ve adapted and improved our services based on the changing needs of the community we serve. What hasn’t changed is our desire to build hopeful futures for children, families and entire communities.

Wilder History

Wilder is named for Amherst H. Wilder, a businessman whose family was committed to helping the poor, the elderly and the ailing lead healthy, meaningful lives. He also inspired generations of people to follow his example and give back to the community he called home.

We continue his legacy as we innovate to meet the changing needs of the community.
