Wilder Forest encompasses 900 acres including hardwood forests, 12 miles of hiking and cross-country ski trails, picturesque lakes, and a wildlife sanctuary accessible by trail. Wilder Forest offers an oasis of trees, lakes, meadows and farmland near Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota, less than an hour away from most Twin Cities locations.
The conference center provides a comfortable, supportive place for youth and adults to learn about the environment, build community, develop leadership and team-building skills, or simply take time to reflect in a soothing natural setting. The central village area includes four lodges that can accommodate up to 102 people, a meeting house for groups of 40-60, a kitchen and dining hall, smaller meeting rooms and a library. All facilities are designed to blend naturally into the environment while offering comfort, accessibility and energy efficiency.
The Wilder Foundation ended its programming at Wilder Forest in 2003, however, Concordia Language Villages (CLV) has leased the village area which encompasses the meeting and overnight facilities, beaches and grounds to operate its Spanish camp – El Lago del Bosque. CLV is an internationally recognized and respected world-language and cultural education program that has been in operation since 1961. For more information on CLV please call 800-222-4750 or visit their website at www.concordialanguagevillages.com
Currently, the Minnesota Food Association (MFA) is leasing the Wilder Forest farm. For more information about MFA and their agricultural programs, please call 651-433-3676 or visit their website at www.mnfoodassociation.org
