Amherst H. Wilder Forest encompasses 600 acres of hardwood forest, lakes, meadows and farmland near Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota, less than an hour away from the Twin Cities metro area. 
The Wilder Foundation ended its programming at Wilder Forest in 2003. River Grove Elementary, a Marine Area Community School recently entered into a lease agreement with Wilder to establish an elementary school within the Wilder Forest property. For more information about the school please call 651-366-0789 or e-mail
