Three Wilder staff members received awards or promotions in September, 2018:
Wilder Research Executive Director Paul Mattessich received a Hall of Heroes leadership award at the Community Indicators Consortium’s 2018 Impact Summit. The award recognizes leaders who have had significant, long-term impact on the indicators field and the improvement of community conditions and well-being.
MK Nguyen of the Saint Paul Promise Neighborhood was awarded the Steve O’Neil Outstanding Organizer Award at the 2018 Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless Annual Conference. The award is given to an outstanding individual who exemplifies passion and drive for organizing social and policy change.
Nou Yang has been promoted to the role of Senior Program Director for Community Leadership within Wilder Center for Communities. In this capacity Nou will oversee strategic direction, community partnerships, and development and sustainability efforts for community leadership programs. She will supervise staff in the James P. Shannon Leadership Institute, Neighborhood Leadership Program, Latino Leadership Program, Itasca Program, and Youth Leadership Initiative, and work in close collaboration with public policy staff on the Community Equity Pipeline program.
