On December 2, 2021, African American Babies Coalition and Projects Director Sameerah Bilal-Roby received the Community Partners Award from the Ramsey County Birth Equity Community Council. The council’s mission is to look for periods of risk associated with perinatal care and inform the community on areas with the greatest opportunities of impact. Sameerah received the award for her work with the Integrated Care for High Risk Pregnancies Initiative (ICHRP) Advisory Council to address African American pregnancy disparities.
“I’m honored to accept this award on behalf of everyone working to support the health of African American women, babies and families,” says Sameerah. “I look forward to building and strengthening partnerships so we can work collectively to improve community health.”
