About this workshop:

Wilder's Community Mental Health and Wellness is hosting a Trauma-Informed training called "Suicide Risk Assessment for Adults."

What participants will learn:

  • How to effectively communicate with clients about suicide and self-harm.
  • Risk and protective factors related to suicide.
  • Conducting and documenting a suicide risk assessment.
  • Strategies for responding to self-harm behaviors in adults.
  • Cultural considerations when responding to suicidal and self-harm thoughts and behaviors.
  • How to manage risk factors (safety planning) and when to refer to a higher level of care.
  • What to expect when you send a client to the hospital for further evaluation.
  • Special considerations when working with veterans and their families.
