In January 2008, the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation began its second century of service by opening the new Wilder Center. In keeping with its mission to promote the social welfare of Saint Paul’s most vulnerable individuals and families, the overarching goal of the Wilder Foundation is to create a campus in Saint Paul that embodies the best in human service programs, research, outreach, and leadership. The Wilder Center integrates cutting-edge strategies in green, sustainable construction and houses approximately half of Wilder’s 650 employees from Wilder Programs, Wilder Research, and Administrative and Executive offices. The building provides improved access for more than 22,000 client visits each year and provides opportunities for community engagement in a 300 person convening space.
