Effective truancy prevention and intervention

A review of relevant research for the Hennepin County School Success Program
August 2003: Michelle Decker Gerrard, Alyssa Burhans, and Jennifer Fair

Looking only at published research with a solid scientific design, this briefing reviews evidence for the effectiveness of three types of truancy prevention programs: school- based, community-based, and law enforcement or court-based. It describes approaches that have been shown to work, those with insufficient evidence, and those shown not to work.
