To better understand new immigrants' needs and experiences in Austin, Minnesota, Wilder conducted focus groups with new immigrants (Hispanic, Sudanese, and Bosnian) and phone interviews with local organizations and businesses that work with new immigrants. Topics include the language barrier, obtaining a driver's license, housing, and child care. The report includes suggestions to improve the situation of new immigrants.
