Research Associate

Muneer specializes in community-based assessments and evaluations within immigrant populations and populations who have historically been underserved. He conducts community assessments, survey projects, and program evaluations using multiple methods in order to assist institutions and stakeholders best understand their target population. His interests include migration, social welfare, violence, education, and community-informed methodologies. He is especially interested in the processes, experiences, and barriers of resettlement among Somali and Latino populations.
Muneer joined Wilder Research in 2009, where he first supervised the survey interviewing team and managed the day-to-day operations in Wilder Research’s Survey Center. He holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and a M.A. from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Community Faculty in the School of Social Work at the University of Minnesota, where he teaches courses in the Social Justice minor and advises undergraduate students with their community-learning projects.
