Residential Treatment Centers

Wilder provides 24-hour-a-day therapeutic environment for children and youth (ages 5 to 18) at four residential treatment facilities in Saint Paul, Minnesota. An evening treatment program and a network of foster homes are also available. The programs, which serve area children with the most serious emotional needs, have a 145-year history and have been part of the Wilder Foundation for more than 35 years.

Program participants generally have emotional or behavioral problems and currently can’t live at home, either because of their own behaviors or because of abusive or neglectful home situations. The goal of the Wilder’s residential treatment programs is to work with the children and their families to find a way for children to either return to their home or an alternative living setting, and to help them make progress toward creating a healthier, safer and more productive future for themselves.
