Clinical Training Institute

The Wilder Foundation developed the Clinical Training Institute as a means to train and coach mental health practitioners from cultural and ethnic minority communities. The Institute teaches about community mental health, clinical skills such as writing diagnostic assessments, case notes, and treatment plans, instruction related to psychotropic medication, consultation of cultural best practices, and opportunities for advanced training.

Highlights

  • Support for practitioners in cultural and ethnic minority communities working to advance their licensure
  • Consultation and ongoing training for specific topics that relate to delivering culturally appropriate clinical work
  • Opportunities to learn about different therapeutic approaches in children’s mental health
  • Bi-monthly or monthly sessions for learning and consultation regarding cross-cultural clinical issues
