The Power of YOU

Double Your Gift and Help Youth Thrive

Support Wilder’s Youth Leadership Initiative (YLI) and Hlub Zoo during the month of May and you may double the impact of your gift! The Katherine B. Andersen Fund of The Saint Paul Foundation has created a challenge opportunity for Wilder donors: make a gift to either program (or both!), and KBA will match funds raised 1:1 through May 31, 2016.

Hlub Zoo

Hlub Zoo (pronounced “Loo Zhong”), which means “"love well, grow well" in Hmong, is a Wilder school success program for Hmong youth at Jackson Elementary in Saint Paul that builds hope, resilience and well-being. Through individual and group experiences, Hlub Zoo helps youth form a positive bicultural identity, strengthens parent engagement, and promotes healthy relationships, success at home, in school, and in the community.

Youth Leadership Initiative

YLI offers high-school-age youth in Saint Paul the opportunity to build leadership, interpersonal and academic skills in a supportive, immersive after school program. YLI participants learn how to work in a team or group, how to solve problems effectively and develop social and emotional skills needed for success in life. YLI fosters cultural exploration, helps develop citizenship, civic engagement and participation in community life.
