About the Wilder Foundation
The Amherst H. Wilder Foundation is a non-profit social services organization. We combine direct service, research and community initiatives to address the needs of vulnerable people in Saint Paul and the surrounding east metro area.
Our approach is unique and highly effective. Through research
we identify emerging needs facing our community. We use best practices models to develop innovative solutions for service delivery to respond to those needs. And we engage the community through partnerships and outreach to multiply our impact.
We provide innovative services and programs to ensure the region’s vulnerable children, families and older adults can thrive.
Our work is organized into three areas:
Children and Families:
The Wilder Foundation provides a full spectrum of specialized programs for children and families facing challenges functioning in their homes, schools and other community settings. We provide mental health services, school success initiatives, culturally-specific programs, early childhood development services and family housing and employment support for children and families of all ages and backgrounds. Wilder’s Community Services for Aging provides low-income adults and adults with disabilities with programs and services that allow them to live independent and healthy lives in the community. From assisted living and day programs to memory loss and caregiver support, we provide high quality care for seniors and peace of mind for families and friends. Click here for more information.
Community, Research and Leadership:
The Wilder Foundation believes we must first listen and understand the needs of our community if we truly want to make a difference. We bring together residents, nonprofits, business, foundations and government to identify critical social issues and generate solutions for community-wide impact, including changing conditions, policies and systems. Here for good.
The Wilder Foundation is “Here for good.” This means we are here for the people of Saint Paul's East Metro area today and always. We are a public charity, generously supported by individual and corporate donors as well as our endowment.
The Wilder Foundation is not a grant making organization.
