Wilder Helps Kids Go Back to School

Back to School Drive

This summer the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation hosted an annual backpack and school supply drive to benefit school-aged children served by Wilder programs. Throughout July and August staff and volunteers collected, sorted, and stuffed backpacks full of supplies to help children start the school year ready to learn.

Thanks to the support of individual donors, volunteers and corporate sponsors, this year's back to school drive provided over 900 children with backpacks and school supplies!

The back to school drive culminated in a family event on August 22. More than 40 families from Wilder's supportive housing services came for food, live music, games and resources for continuing education. Each child left with a backpack filled with the supplies they will need for the school year.

Thank you to all of our generous donors, volunteers and partners for helping make this year's supply drive a success!
