Youth Leadership Initiative Receives Minnesota Ethical Leadership Award

The Wilder Foundation is pleased to announce that the Youth Leadership Initiative (YLI) has been selected as a recipient of the 2014 Minnesota Ethical Leadership Award. The Minnesota Ethical Leadership Award was created to celebrate programs making a positive difference in the lives of Minnesotans and inspire others with models of outstanding character and ethical leadership development. Synergy & Leadership Exchange administers the award program on behalf of the Citizens for an Ethical Minnesota initiative.

To be considered for the award, programs are evaluated on the degree of program effectiveness, scope of collaboration and ease of program replication. The panel of judges was impressed with the character and ethical leadership development exhibited by the Youth Leadership Initiative. YLI shares this honor with the other 2014 Ethical Leadership Award recipients: Cookie Cart, The Summer Institute for Educators, Leaders and Students at William Mitchell College of Law, and World Savvy. In 2013, Wilder Foundation's Neighborhood Leadership Program was honored with the award.

YLI staff and participants will receive the award at a ceremony May 8 in the Minnesota State Capitol, Room 118 beginning at 2:30 p.m. This ceremony is held in conjunction with the Minnesota Schools of Character & Promising Practices Awards ceremony. Thanks to Citizens for an Ethical Minnesota and Synergy & Leadership Exchange for this recognition and honor.
