Volunteer Opportunities

NLP Coaches

The Neighborhood Leadership Program seeks community leaders to serve as coaches for each participant. NLP Coaches are guides who walk with participants during their six-month journey to listen attentively, act as a sounding board, and share their stories. Coaches attend an initial orientation in the fall, are matched to an NLP participant, and commit to at least five meetings over the course of the program.

Trainers, Presenters, and Guest Speakers

Neighborhood Leadership Programs utilize experts in the field to present the most relevant topics from diverse personal and organizational perspectives. Please contact us if you’re willing to share your experiences, skills, or talents with NLP participants.

Other Volunteers

NLP also relies on volunteers to provide leadership programs for our community:

  • Child care providers
  • Office support
  • Transportation
  • Program interns

"Coaching really needs to respond to the aspirations of participants. It's more of an art than a science. Asking probing questions is important and listening well is critical."
