Program:  Project Quest
Responsibilities:  This position will provide housing services for participants of Project Quest supportive housing program. The program assists families who have experienced long-term homelessness make the transition from homelessness to housing, and provides ongoing intensive service to the families. The Housing Specialist will identify housing options and place families in rental units; work closely with landlords to resolve issues; work with other providers to identify other resources needed to assist in sustaining housing; provide consultation to families with barriers to housing; conduct housing inspections; present a range of training opportunities; and, work closely with case management and housing teams. The program offers a strength based, consumer focused, Housing First model.
Qualifications:  BA/BS in Housing, Social Science, Human Services field or equivalent experience required with one to three years professional experience. Must have the ability to relate to and engage a wide range of people, excellent communication, computation, and problem solving skills. Must have a basic knowledge of subsidized housing programs and a strong interest in understanding housing regulations. Must be able to provide culturally competent services to homeless families. Ideal candidate will work well independently and with a team, possess excellent negotiation skills, be energetic, flexible, and able to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation necessary.
