What is the program schedule?

Applicants to the program have two options to participate in the Institute's year-long program. Both programs run on a calendar year and take place in settings in and around Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Monthly Program: A day of orientation takes place in January, followed by a three-day retreat in February, then ten monthly sessions, taking place on Thursday evening and all day Friday, ending with a three-day retreat in December.

Quarterly Program: Four sessions, each three days in length, occurring in various retreat settings. Sessions occur in March, June, September and December.

What is the cost of the program?

Participants are asked to pay as much of the full cost of the program as possible, but no one is denied access to the program for financial reasons. After being selected, participants are required to pay a $400 nonrefundable deposit in order to secure their place in the program and a fee arrangement is then made in consultation with Institute staff prior to the start of the program. How do I apply?

If you wish to apply, please send us a letter (by post or e-mail) no more than two pages in length, minimum of 12-point type, responding to the following questions:

• Why do you want to participate?
• How do you hope you and your work will benefit from the program?

Please be sure to include your complete contact information and indicate if you have a preference for the quarterly or monthly format.

The deadline for applications is November 1.

What are the program dates for 2009?

Monthly program

The opening and closing retreats in the monthly program begin at 2:00 p.m. the first day and conclude at 3:00 p.m. the final day.

The regular monthly sessions take place on Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
