Melanie Ferris

Melanie works on a range of evaluation and research projects, and has experience in study design and implementation, project management, and report-writing. 

Before joining Wilder Research, Melanie worked for the National Alliance on Mental Illness informing legislators on mental health issues, and as a case coordinator for adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness.

Melanie's interests include mental health issues and health disparities.  She has a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health, and a B.A. in biology from Macalester College.

 

Recent projects

  • Evaluating the RS Eden Continuum of Care project, which provides chemical health treatment and recovery services to pregnant and parenting women.
  • Examining the perceptions of caregivers regarding early childhood obesity prevention strategies in Dakota County.
  • Co-authoring a report examining services for victims of general crime in Minnesota.
  • Leading an evaluation of a corrections-based methamphetamine treatment program in Olmsted County.
  • Assisting in the evaluation of Our Children Succeed, a SAMHSA System of Care grant to improve children's mental health services in Northwest Minnesota.
