Amherst H. Wilder employees give back to the communities where they live and work contributing time, talent and financial resources to not-for-profit organizations of their choice. Since 1978, Wilder employees have contributed more than $1.4 million to charities through an employee giving campaign. Wilder encourages employee giving through:

1. An annual "Building on the Legacy" fundraising campaign to encourage donations to the following agencies in our community:

• Community Shares Minnesota
• Minnesota Environmental Fund
• Twin Cities United Way
• Amherst H. Wilder Foundation

2. Volunteer activities

Each year hundreds of Wilder employees participate in numerous activities to raise resources for or volunteer for many different initiatives. Many of the issues and activities our employees support help build connections and relationships for the individuals Wilder serves. We view the involvement of our employees as important investments that add value to our communities and complement our mission.

Our volunteers provide valuable services to the community and help make the places in which we live and work more vibrant and healthy by:

• Serving on the boards of nonprofit organizations.
• Walking in fundraising events or racing to fight diseases.
• Participating in an annual employee blood drive for the American Red Cross.
• Delivering meals vis the Wilder Meals on Wheels program.
• Participating in food and school supply drives.
• Reading to children and seniors.
• Donating holiday gifts to children in Wilder's residential programs.
• Countless other community service projects.

3. Educational opportunities

Wilder organizes lunches that include expert panels, speakers and community representatives around a variety of topics to provide a forum for Wilder employees to stay informed and connected to important issues in our community.
