Spencer House provides residential treatment and an on-site school for boys and girls age 11 to 17 who currently can’t live at home, either because of their own behaviors or because of abusive or neglectful home situations. Within a 24-hour-a-day therapeutic environment, these youth and their families work toward a healthier, safer and more productive future.
Services include psychiatrically based assessment and diagnosis of mental health issues, as well as emergency shelter, respite care, residential treatment and aftercare. Staff uses a combination of individual, family and group therapy to help youth and their families understand their feelings, communicate respectfully, and build positive relationships.
