Age and disability prevent many seniors from getting the nutrition they need to stay healthy. When grocery shopping and meal preparation becomes challenging, Wilder’s Meals on Wheels program can help. With Meals on Wheels, seniors receive affordable hot meals delivered direct to their doors every weekday by friendly and caring volunteers. This daily check-in is a lifeline for seniors who live alone in the community.
Wilder’s Meals on Wheels program is a member of the Senior Services Consortium of Ramsey County. Drivers are trained and supervised to ensure prompt, safe and courteous service.
Participants receive a nutritionally-balanced, hot meal that provides one-third of daily nutritional requirements. All meals are low salt, prepared in central kitchens, and delivered hot over the lunch hour. Special dietary requirements can usually be accommodated. Packaged meals for weekends or holidays can also be arranged.
Wilder’s Meals on Wheels program services a large portion of St. Paul along I-94 between Snelling Avenue and downtown. For more information or to begin receiving meals at your home, please contact Alease Moore at 651-280-2500.
Meals on Wheels is staffed almost entirely by volunteer drivers. If you or your organization would like more information about this rewarding volunteer opportunity, please contact Alease Moore, 651-280-2500.
