Humboldt Apartments

The Humboldt Apartments are 120 HUD-subsidized apartments located at 516 Humboldt Avenue, and 82 affordable fixed-rate apartments at 508-510 Humboldt Avenue. These apartments provide affordable, service-enriched housing for older adults and younger disabled persons.

The Humboldt Apartments are located on the Rarig Campus on the west side of Saint Paul, which also houses a long-term elder care facility operated by Health East.

Housing & services
Residents living in the Humboldt apartments have access to a variety of standard services including on-call 24 hour emergency response, laundry facilities, a coffee bar, a computer lab, an on-site movie theatre, and a Saint Paul Police Substation.

Residents can choose from a selection of “ala carte” support services. These include: housekeeping, grocery delivery, transportation, congregate dining, and home health services.

On-site resident services coordinators assist residents with arranging services (such as personal care, housekeeping and meals) and removing other barriers to independent living.

Measuring success
The Humboldt Apartments are evaluated every three years by Wilder Research. The evaluation looks at how residents perceive the quality of the housing environment, the staff, the quality of the services delivered, and the quality of the activities provided.
