Wilder Volunteers Make an Impact

Members of a local boy scout troop help assemble information kits for Wilder's Caregiver Services.

More than 700 community members volunteered at the Wilder Foundation in 2010. Whether you give a few hours a month to tutor a child, set aside a day to participate in social activities for older adults or take part in any of the other opportunities listed below on a one-time, part-time or regular basis, you can make a tremendous impact on the people we serve. Volunteer opportunities are available for both individuals and for corporate groups. To learn more about individual opportunities available, please see the list below. If you are interested in corporate or business group volunteer opportunities, please email volunteers@wilder.org. Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Wilder Foundation!

Meals On Wheels Delivery

We are always looking for volunteers to help with our Meals on Wheels program. Volunteers deliver noon meals to home-bound seniors and those with limited mobility in a number of central Saint Paul neighborhoods. Volunteer daily, weekly or as your schedule permits. Volunteers provide their own transportation and must have a current driver’s license. Meals are picked up at 650 Marshall Avenue and delivered between 10:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. All routes take 30 minutes to an hour.

Over 5 million adults in the United States are at risk of hunger. Seniors with limited incomes, those who live alone, and those who are renters are at highest risk. These are older adults who live in our community and are served by Wilder’s Meals on Wheels Program. Wilder volunteers deliver much more than a meal – they bring a smile, kind words and help relieve isolation. To volunteer with Wilder Foundation's Meals on Wheels program, contact Alease Moore at 651-280-2533 or alease.moore@wilder.org.
