Research Scientist

Ellen specializes in topics related to the well-being of families and children, using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Her research projects include program evaluation, needs assessment, and policy analysis.
Ellen has over 10 years experience in applied social science research. Before coming to Wilder Research Center in 1997, she worked as a research associate and policy analyst for the Minnesota Council on Crime and Justice. She holds an M.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in History from Carleton College, and has taken advanced coursework in research design and statistics at the University of Minnesota and the Summer Institute in Survey Research at the University of Michigan.
